Regular Draft

You can begin/continue the draft at any time by clicking the green "Enter draft room" button from your FanDraft dashboard.

Commissioner Controls

Commissioners have the capability of accessing "Commissioner Mode". When this is turned on, the commissioner has full control of the draft at all times. This means, as a commissioner, you can make picks on behalf of other users, edit picks, pause/play the clock, and perform nearly any function on behalf of you, the league, and any owner.

This allows the ability for the commissioner to run the full draft, or make necessary edits if and when the moment requires it. While in Commish Mode, remote users still have the ability to make their own picks, however, the Commissioner simply has the option to make picks on behalf of teams if they so choose.

Practice / Mock Drafts

We highly encourage all of our users to run several mock/practice drafts prior to the beginning of their actual draft. This allows you to become familiar with the FanDraft platform, and also allows you to iron out any mistakes you may have made in your setup, prior to the beginning of your official draft. You can always reset your draft prior to starting your official draft (more)

Starting Your Draft

Once you enter the Draft Room, you will be brought to a welcome splash screen.

If you are the Commissioner, click on the "BEGIN DRAFT" button and the draft will officially begin.

Entering the Draft Room

In the "Regular Style" draft teams take turns making selections, in an order based on the league's Draft Order settings/rules. Leagues can either have owners logged in and drafting remotely, or the Commissioner should turn on the "Commish Mode" option to give themselves full access to all of the tools.

Note: Remote owners will still be able to make selections while the Commissioner has this turned on.

A) Draft Extensions

If your league uses draft extensions, click here if/when you choose to use one. This is handy when the clock is nearing zero and you need a little more time to make your pick. Leagues that utilize "Draft Extensions" can customize quantity and duration in SETTINGS.

B) Draft Board Display

Use this drop-down menu to change which Draft Board display you would like to view.

C) Chat Window

Clicking on this box will reveal the Chat Window, allowing remote owners to text-chat with each other.

D) Draft Player Search / Stage

When an owner is on the clock (or if the Commissioner has "Commissioner Mode" on) this area will appear. Simply begin to type a player for selection, and they will be added here to be ready for selection. Or, if you added a player to this stage area from your queue, the "Draft Player" button will appear allowing for the finalization of selection.

If you are on deck to draft, players can also be selected by clicking on a player cell name on the Player Board display, then selecting "Stage Player".

E) Draft Player

After a player is added to the search/stage area, an owner can click the "Draft Player" button to process the draft selection.

F) Options Menu

Opens up the available display and audio options, and menu to exit the draft.

The "Options menu" has available several preferences that can be adjusted to customize the draft experience:

  • Commissioner Mode: Available to the Commissioner, once turned on this allows the easy ability for the commissioner to control and add draft picks on behalf of all of the owners.

  • Pick Modal: This turns on/off the displaying of the graphical "Pick Modal", which is shown after each draft selection. For example, the "Pick Modal" look very similar to this:

  • News Crawl: Turn the informational ticker on the bottom of the screen on/off.

  • Player Cell Mode: This switches between displaying either a player's BYE WEEK or NFL TEAM NAME in the individual player cells on the draft board.

  • Player Name Size: This adjusts the font size of player cells, for all board displays except the "Player Board Display".

  • Music (on/off): If your league has a "Team Walk-Up Songs" set up, an option to turn the music on or off will appear here.

  • Clock (audio): This turns the clock audio on/off.

  • Announcer (audio): This turns the "Voice Announcer" audio on/off.

G) Ticker Speed

Click the up/down arrow to increase/decrease the speed of the news crawl.

Audio Menu

If your league uses "Team Songs", owners can click on the audio icon to access the ability to pause songs or adjust the volume.

The Pick Is In

To turn on the "The Pick Is In" feature, set the notch to "ON" from the draft option menu.

This feature performs the following:

1. After a player is added to the queue, a box will pop up saying "The Pick Is In" to all users (including remote users).

2. An audio sound effect will play in tandem, alerting all users that the pick is in the queue and being added to the queue for selection.

You can further customize this feature in the setup "AUDIO" section, where if you use Team Songs, you can have the song stop once "The Pick Is In" is triggered.
